The "Little Switzerland of America" this is Joseph Oregon. I haven't been to Switzerland so I have nothing to compare that statement to, but I can tell you this is one of the cutest little cowboy towns I have ever visited! The Golden valley and deep blue lake of Joseph is surrounded by the majestic Wallowa Mountains of Northeast Oregon. I was honored to have one of my closest friend who grew up there invite me to visit her little home town. And let me put into perspective how "little" this town is. . .she graduated in a large class of 32 kids! That's the size of one of the 5 classes I teach! Early Wednesday morning we took the winding 6 hour drive through Eastern Washington, with of course a few Starbucks stops along the way! Joseph Oregon is also know for its beautiful artwork and intricate bronze sculptures. . .which my friends dad happens to create! Her brother is also and artist creating cool metal works and he surprised me with a bronze piece honoring my recently passed kitty, Shadow, awwww! It was mid August and the weather report had called for high 80's and 90's but we got caught in a monstrous 5 day storm. Everyday we would wake up to the gorgeous sunny sunrise and by noon the skies would open and a downpour of rain surrounded us. It did make for some fun pics though. . .5 days of fun pics to be exact! Licking the creamy chocolate covered spoon of the Salted Carmel Mochas (from Arrowhead Coffee and Chocolate arrowheadchocolates.com ), warm bubbly hot tub soaks, neighborly potlucks, shopping, shopping and shopping (at BeeCrowBee, my new favorite boutique. You guys the store smells so good that the owner created a scent to take home called essence so you can bring the memory home with you!. . .beecrowbee.com ), rainy days and cute puppy snuggles at the lake (wallowalakemarina.com), deep conversations and laughs galore made this the most wonderful Girls Trip one could ask for! Just see for yourself. . .I'll let the pics do the rest of the talking. . .Enjoy!
Thank you to all my human tripods (Ashley, Carrie, Ashley's Mom and Dad and more!) for snapping plenty of pics of me too!
